Midnightpaw jumped ahead of Icestar and landed on Shadowclan's side of the border. Icestar shot him a gaze and yelled at him, "You're on Shadowclan's side of the border. If you would be caught right now you would be ripped to pieces."
Midnightpaw ran over to Thunderclan's side of the border. "I'm sorry Icestar I didn't know."
Icestar put her tail on Midnightpaw's shoulder. "OK, I won't punish you since you're just learning. Now remember this side of the border is Shadowclans and this side is ours."
Midnightpaw nodded
"Now, I want you to stand here and smell the air.
Midnightpaw smelled it, "That smell is disgusting. It's so much worse than Riverclans, but why are they called Shadowclan?" Midnightpaw's question was reasonable.
"Because Shadowclan is the clan of the shadows plus since they live in a marsh their feet are more like webbed feet."
"Cool!"
"Now, we're going back to the woods where I shall teach you how to hunt." Icestar walked away. Midnightpaw raced after her.

Midnightpaw got back up and looked down at the ground, "I know I shouldn't trespass on other clans territories, but I have to go through Shadowclan to get to Windclan. But I'm afraid Tigerstar's going to yell at me to go away when I just want to see my sister." Midnightpaw didn't look up.

Icestar walked up to the border on duty. Sadness flowed through her eyes every time she though about Midnightpaw being taken by Windclan, but that did not stop her from guarding her territory.
